Darwin Blacktip Project

The Blacktip gas field is a project to supply natural gas to Alcan’s alumina refinery at Alcan Gove in the Northern Territory. The main environmental benefits of the project can be attributed to the substitution of high sulphur fuel oil for natural gas at the Alcan Gove alumina refinery. This will result in improvements in local air quality as well as reductions in greenhouse gas emissions per tonne of product produced at the refinery.

TCG Industries was awarded the contract to supply 200 units of specially designed Instrument Stands to Darwin that required a special surface treatment to withstand the harsh conditions of the Northern Territory. The surface treatment was marine three coat poly. TCG designed, manufactured,  surface treated and painted the product with a marine three coat poly in keeping with the strict environmental requirements outlined for the project.  The customer informed TCG Industries it's product exceeded their expectations.
